I started my career in retail, working for a supermarket chain, getting to know people and the variety of personalities we humans have—and boy, did I love this part of my life! After nine amazing years, I thought it was time to spread my wings and learn some more. I found myself in sales for the next seven years, getting to know business owners, managers, and people in various job roles—how they think, how they operate, and how they make decisions. At this stage of my career, I was well-equipped with an understanding of how customers think and how to talk business. This primed me for my next and most exciting move: Advertising.

I spent nine exciting years as an account manager in advertising. I was definitely meant to be in this ever-changing environment. I loved the diverse businesses I came across, from hairdressers and mechanics to lawyers, manufacturing, and builders, but mostly, I loved each and every business partner I worked with.

In 2009, we talked print advertising. In 2011, we talked online advertising. By 2021, we were talking SEO, SEM, website development, social media, e-commerce, the power of video content, blogging, content is king, digital vs. traditional media, branding vs. direct marketing, and everything in between.

Advertising was so easy when all you needed was the Yellow Pages, a TV commercial, or an ad in the local paper. Advertising is now so much more than that, and a lot more complex. Advertising changed from print to digital before our very eyes, and it continues to change every day.

So how does a business owner know what to do?
Where to start?
Who to trust?
And what’s right for their business?

Well, the answer is, some do and some don’t.

I have been in the corporate world my whole career, and after 25 years, I decided it was time for a change. Today, I am a digital advertising consultant, and wouldn’t have it any other way.
